FAQ - Thermal Paper Rolls

1. What is thermal receipt paper?

Thermal receipt paper is a special paper designed for thermal printers. It reacts to heat from the printer head to create text and images, so it does not require ink, toner, or ribbon.

2. How do I know which thermal paper size I need?

Please check your printer’s required paper width, roll diameter, and core size before ordering. Common sizes include 3 1/8" for standard POS receipt printers and 2 1/4" for many credit card terminals and smaller receipt printers.

3. What is the difference between 3 1/8" and 2 1/4" receipt paper?

3 1/8" thermal paper is commonly used for POS systems, cash registers, and restaurant receipt printers.
2 1/4" thermal paper is commonly used for credit card terminals, mobile printers, and compact receipt printers.

4. Does thermal paper need ink?

No. Thermal paper does not need ink, toner, or ribbon. It works with thermal printers that use heat to print directly on the paper surface.

5. Is thermal paper compatible with all receipt printers?

No. Thermal paper only works with thermal receipt printers. It is not suitable for regular inkjet, laser, or bond paper printers. Please confirm your printer model and paper size requirements before ordering.

6. Why is my receipt printing light or unclear?

Light printing may be caused by an incompatible paper type, incorrect printer settings, a worn printer head, low printer heat setting, or improper paper storage. Please confirm that your printer uses thermal paper and that the paper is loaded correctly.

7. How should I store thermal paper rolls?

Store thermal paper in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity, oil, and chemicals. Proper storage helps maintain print quality and paper performance.

8. Do you offer bulk pricing for thermal paper?

Yes. Bulk pricing may be available for larger or recurring business orders. Please check the quantity discounts on the product page or contact us for a custom quote.
